    With over 200 million riders annually, the Dubai Metro maintains its world-class standard through strict enforcement of public conduct and safety regulations. RTA inspectors actively patrol stations and trains 24/7 to issue fines for any violations.

    Common Fines: The 100 AED List?

    These are the most frequent violations issued to passengers. Most people are caught for minor etiquette breaches without realizing they are illegal.

    Eating/Drinking

    Prohibited in all zones, including chewing gum.

    Feet on Seats

    Damaging, dirtying, or placing feet on seat cushions.

    Wrong Cabin

    Sitting in Women/Children or Gold Class improperly.

    Disturbance

    Playing loud music or causing inconvenience to others.

    The "Unwritten" Rules?

    Littering: Even dropping a small receipt can result in a 200 AED fine. Use the bins provided at every platform entrance.

    Sleeping: While dozing off is common, lying down across multiple seats or being found sleeping in the station after closing is prohibited.

    PDA: Public displays of affection are strictly discouraged and can result in unwanted attention from inspectors.

    Nol Card Compliance?

    Your Nol Card is your legal permit to travel. Many commuters get fined not for avoiding the fare, but for technical non-compliance.

    Check Your Balance

    Entering the paid area without a minimum of 7.50 AED balance results in a 200 AED fine. Always use our balance check tool before travel.

    Personal cards

    Personalized Blue cards are for the owner only. If you use a family member\'s blue card, you will be fined as an Unauthorized User.

    How to Pay RTA Fines??

    If you have been issued a fine, it must be paid to avoid further legal complications and travel bans. You can settle your fine via:

    • RTA Website (Official Portal)
    • RTA Dubai App (Mobile Payment)
    • Customer Happiness Centers (Cash/Card)
    • Metro Station Ticket Offices (Specific stations only)

    Stay Safe

    RTA Inspectors are dressed in grey uniforms with "RTA" badges. They utilize hand-held devices to scan your Nol Card for validity.
