Dubai\'s public transport system is one of the most advanced in the world. To use any part of it—the Metro, Bus, Tram, or even the Water Taxi—you must have a Nol card. Cash is not accepted on any RTA vehicle.

Arriving at DXB: Where to buy?

You can purchase your first Nol card immediately upon landing at Dubai International Airport (DXB):

Airport Metro Stations

Located at Terminals 1 and 3. Buy your card at the ticket office or automatic vending machines.

Nol Pay Smart Kiosks

Available in the arrivals hall of Terminal 3. They accept International Credit Cards.

Red Ticket (Nol Red)

Recommended for: 1-Day Trip

Short Stay

Best for sightseers visiting just 2-3 locations in one day. You can load it with a Daily Pass (20 AED) for unlimited travel across all zones.

Silver Card (Nol Silver)

Recommended for: 3-7 Day Trip

Explorer choice

The most popular choice. It is refillable and provides the cheapest fares for regular zones. Perfect if you plan to use the Metro/Tram multiple times daily.

Gold Card (Nol Gold)

Zones Matter

Dubai is divided into 7 zones. Your fare is calculated by how many zones you cross (1, 2, or 3+ zones).

Marine Transport

You can use your Nol card to ride the Abra (Traditional boat) in Dubai Marina and the Water Taxi across the Creek.

Cabin Rules

Every train has a Ladies & Children cabin. Men entering these cabins can be fined 100 AED.

Minimum Balance Warning

To enter any Metro station, your Nol card MUST have a minimum balance of 7.50 AED (one-way trip cost for 3+ zones). Ensure you top up before heading to the gates!
